No, this isn’t a mutated panda or a Kiss cosplay gone wrong. This is the Phantom of the Opera, my subject for the Music Inktober prompt.
I should have done more in the background, but it already took me a long time to get the figure and the foreground right. I may have botched the shading, but I’m pretty happy with the details.
I haven’t seen the any of the movies or the musicals, but that visual is iconic. That classic face reveal sticks with you, you know? It’s the stuff of nightmares. I read a bit about it while researching reference photos. Turns out movie audiences were so shocked by the horrid face reveal that some of they fainted or just screamed in horror. Good times.
