Hi, I’m Gino. This is Flipping. I don’t know what it is yet, but it’s here and it’s live.

I’ll share and talk about my drawings here, as well as other art-related things. I just started drawing regularly using my base model 2018 iPad and first-generation Apple Pencil. I joined and won a couple of art contests in grade school. I doodled a lot of non-sense in the back of my notebooks in high school. I created very crude comics in college. But for all intents and purposes, I am an art n00b.

I don’t know where this current fixation in making art and blogging about it will take me. I’m thinking of doing political cartoons. Funny comic strips. Maybe full-on sequential art. Or maybe I’ll get bored in a month and drop all of this. I’m here to see where it goes.

Flipping could mean flipping out because it’s 2020 and we have almost normalized losing our minds as individuals and as a collective. It could mean flipping off anything and everything that pisses me off. It could mean I’ll be flipping through pages of life as I search for meaning and purpose. Or it could just mean that I’m figuratively flipping tables to let off steam.

I’m here to define Flipping and what art is for me. Maybe it’s therapy. Maybe it’s my journey to finding whatever it is I’m looking for. Maybe it’s just another dumb blog nobody will read.
